World Yoga Day

Like last year, yogis around the world will do a two hour yoga practice on Sunday 3rd of February 2008 from 11AM to 1PM.
We will also dedicate our energy and spirit to everyone suffering from human rights violations and raise energy and awareness at that time.

... AND let everyone else you know in your local yoga community !

WYD are joining forces with AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL to support their HUMAN RIGHTS IN CHINA campaign in the run-up to the 2008 Olympics.
As China has become a powerful global player with huge support from most international states, it is important to raise our voice and ensure that human rights violations in China WON’T GET SUPPORTED!
With the 2008 Olympics coming up it is an important time and occassion to get active.

One yoga school in China shows how important our ACTION is:-

I do encourage all my students to practice AHIMSA. I live in this country, and no foreign yoga teacher will take the risk of being expelled. No Chinese student will take this risk either. No yoga studio will take the risk to be forced to close down. I wholeheartedly support you, and will do my best, in my limited way."
